Yeah...it hasn't been good in that department. It also hasn't helped I've been under tremendous stress these last two weeks. I also received a few more rejections, including one place where I've submitted to twice in two years, but I'm not going to stop sending stuff to that particular journal. It's a numbers game. I'm at a 28% acceptance rate right now (11 acceptances to 27 rejections) which is still high, and to be successful, I should aim to sink that number.
One of those acceptances was to become a reader in Bartleby Snopes. Another two landed me in two different journals and the company of Allyson Whipple and Steve Lambert, both UTEP classmates, but also both are great poets. Steve's a Pushcart Prize nominee and Allyson might as well get the Austin Poetry Society award named after her given how many times she's won it.
WE FINALLY CLOSED ON A HOUSE.
Like, I know we did that earlier, but now it's official. So now I get to Pinterest for build-a-desk ideas since an Ikea desk would probably shatter in three months.
